On Thursday, September 2, the AMMA Award Show took place at SugarFactory! The "Oscars of the Media" were presented during a festive live event in accordance with the applicable coronavirus measures. The event was also one of the first larger events to be held indoors in the Netherlands!
Spectacular award ceremony
Organizer MWG—the trade association for media professionals—chose our former CSM Sugar Factory as the location for this year's prestigious award show. The AMMA Awards are a spectacular event every year and always give the public something to look forward to. Something they have succeeded in doing again this year!
Guests were registered before entering and checked for a valid COVID-19 test certificate. This was done in phases, with four time slots to avoid any crowding before the checks. De Binnenstraat served as an atmospheric entrance, after which guests arrived at de Middenfabriek, where the award show took place.
The dinner was provided by Hete Peper and was a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. Bazelmans AV was responsible for the technology and created the right atmosphere with LED screens, lighting, and sound.
SEATED EVENT
Denise Schimmel, General Manager at SugarFactory, explains why the sugar factory is perfect for a large-scale seated event such as the AMMA Awards 2021: "Our location is very suitable for large-scale events. Thanks to the space available in the factory, we can organize a great event even in these uncertain times. De Middenfabriek is ideal for a spectacular dinner, seating 700 people at long tables, in compliance with RIVM rules."
Since last month, one-day events with fixed seating have been allowed to take place again, provided that full vaccination is required or a proof of access test no older than 24 hours can be presented. Visitors to the event even had the opportunity to be tested on site, as there is a rapid test street located on the SugarCity grounds.
"It was great to welcome so many guests to an event again," Denise continues, "as an event venue, we are of course fully committed to showing that such business events can be facilitated in a safe manner."
