On March 16, 2021, MPI Netherlands Chapter organized an online event for its members to discuss the transition from live to online—and hopefully back to live again soon. During this digital networking event, the large studio at de Middenfabriek was used as a spacious recording location.
MPI Road to Recovery
MPI Netherlands Chapter is the Dutch branch of the Meeting Professionals International trade association. With a community of over 60,000 professionals, MPI is the world's largest and most active trade association for the meeting and events industry.
During the MPI Road to Recovery event, presenter Desiree Hoving shared the stage with inspiring speakers to analyze developments in the field of (online) events. Speakers Patrick de Laive (co-founder of The Next Web) and Sherry Rafiq (Internal Communications, Culture & Engagement VodafoneZiggo) shared their expertise and vision with MPI members via a livestream.
Various issues were discussed, including 'what have festival organizers learned'
and 'what does the future look like?'
. With a critical eye on the past and an open mind about the future, MPI Netherlands Chapter analyzed the lessons learned and opportunities for the MICE industry.
Setting
MPI Netherlands Chapter opted for a cool, informal setting on the main stage with two armchairs. In addition, an extra setting was created at the side of the main stage for the sidekick position. This allowed them to easily switch from one place to another during the online event. A multifunctional setup in a versatile space.
Responsible event
The event was fully in line with the applicable Covid-19 safety guidelines. Thanks to the enormous space in de Middenfabriek, the speakers present were able to maintain sufficient distance.
